Why Add An Enclosure Around the Pool
Pool owners often look for ways to enhance their swimming pool’s beauty, functionality, and value. One such addition that will keep the pool area safe, clean, and inviting is a lanai. Adding a lanai or a screened enclosure around the pool keeps annoying pests at bay making the swimming pool more enjoyable. Some homeowners may consider enclosing their pools a costly expenditure, but these durable structures are worthy investments. Enclosing the pool reduces the possibility of accidental slips and keeps children within a confined space, beneficial for households with kids and pets.

Pool enclosures offer added safety from the outdoor elements and for your home. The screen material that lanais are typically made out of helps keep out animals, bugs, dirt, and other unwanted elements. These structures form a barrier around the deck and often consist of screening glass and aluminum, both durable and lightweight. These enclosures also act as a more secure version of a pool fence, keeping out small children or unwelcome guests. Below is a short list of reasons to consider.
- Protection from Harmful UV Rays: Screening the pool lets in plenty of sunlight but prevents direct sun rays. It enhances the swimming experience and provides a shady and comfortable space to relax, enjoy, and entertain. Lanai installation around the pool minimizes the impact of ultraviolet rays.
- Keep Debris Out: Leaves, dirt, sticks, debris, and algae growth can make the pool dirty and ruin the swimming experience. A pool open to the elements will require a lot of maintenance. One of the biggest reasons people choose a lanai addition around the pool is it reduces cleaning time.
- More Pool Time: An enclosed pool becomes usable anytime during the year without worrying about insects, rain, and other elements. Add adequate lighting to improve safety after the sun goes down. These enclosures also help regulate the temperatures inside for a more comfortable environment.
- Enclosures Reduce the Elements: Strong winds and heavy rains can change the mood of a swim and bring in debris and dust as you spend time outside. To solve this, you can erect a solid and stylish pool screen enclosure that is durable and stylish.
- Customizable Enclosures: Pool lanais and other enclosures come in varied styles and materials, allowing homeowners to personalize the space according to their preferences. The freedom to customize the pool based on the family lifestyle helps people get creative with their pool usage.
- Improved Security and Privacy: Screen enclosures provide some protection from all angles, including below the waterline, so you can relax and enjoy your pool without worry of prying eyes.
- Increase Home Value: An enclosed pool does motivate potential homebuyers and is a huge selling feature. People prefer homes with ample living spaces where they can enjoy the comfort of indoors while staying outdoors. In essence, a quality pool enclosure makes a home easier to sell.

Swimming Pool Enclosures
Maintaining a pool in Ft. Myers, Florida can be expensive, especially if their pool is in an open or a non-screen enclosed pool and deck area. Investing in a screen enclosure will save time and money. If you already have a pool, you know that it can be a selling point. Adding a screened in pool enclosure increases the value of your property, adds aesthetic appeal to the areas around your home, and saves you money over its lifetime.
You can use your pool comfortably during hot days of summer or even on the warmer days of a cooled climate. You can enjoy nighttime dips or enjoy naturally sun-heated pools. Swimming pool enclosures add an extra layer of protection by keeping your pool area closed off to outsiders and pests. We include a “super-gutter” installation which effectively collects rain-water and keeps it away from the pool and deck.
Lanai Enclosures
A lanai or lānai is a type of roofed, open-sided veranda, patio or porch that has been screened to turn into an enclosed space. Lanai enclosures originated in Hawaii and are named after the island where they are most common. Many homes, apartment buildings, hotels and restaurants in Hawaii have one or more lanais in order to extend the living space and bring the outside in. Florida’s temperate year-round climate, makes lanais an ideal addition.
A porch by itself does not add much extra value to your property, but when it is enclosed and transformed into a lanai, it becomes an additional living space that can be used more often. A lanai provides a great place for kids or grand kids to play on rainy or bad weather days. You can relax and avoid the sun’s harmful UV rays in your screened-in lanai, while still enjoying a gentle summer breeze, enjoying the outdoors comfortably.
Picture Window Screen Enclosures
An enclosure picture window, also called clear view, super screen or no-see-um is a large opening of screen unobstructed by any aluminum members. Typical screen enclosures usually have vertical members and chair rails every few feet. Picture windows removes the ‘cage feeling’. It includes a high-strength aluminum structure that is designed to handle more weight than the average enclosure, so that it can handle losing some vertical beams
The options include a ‘whole enclosure’ which is open on all sides with only corner posts less vertical support members. A ‘one wall picture window’ which is only one screened wall re-engineered to remove vertical members. Another option is ‘part of one wall’ where one section of the one wall is converted to a screened picture window. Heavy-duty polyester screen such Super Screen or Ultra Screen can be used to cover these large openings.
