A Critical Component for a Long Roof Life
Gutters & Downspouts
Varying aspects of your home’s roof line, pitch, overhang, fascia & valleys all need to be taken into consideration when a gutter installation is designed and installed. Effective rain management depends on well-designed and functioning gutters and downspouts. A Seacoast Building & Design professional will evaluate your home and plan a gutter replacement or a brand new gutter installation that best fits your needs. We take cutting-edge technology and implement it with the industry’s best materials to design your custom gutter system.
The Necessity of a Working Gutter System
Gutters help prevent water and moisture damage by collecting water that lands on the roof and directing it away from your structure. When water repeatedly collects next to the foundation, it tends to eventually find its way into some part of the structure. When it rains, a properly installed gutter system ensures that rainwater won’t collect on the roof or run down alongside your walls. When rainwater is not controlled, it can get in between the wood, vinyl siding, or other materials that guard it against the elements.
Our Gutter Installation Services Include:
Seamless K-Style Rain Gutters
The most used gutter style in the U.S. is the seamless K-style gutters. It is less likely to leak, holds more water, has an attractive appearance, and is highly customizable. The unique design further helps in ensuring that water is carried away from your structure, preventing damaging water infiltration. These gutters are available in a variety of materials such as copper, aluminum, and galvanized steel. It has numerous advantages such as it can hold more water than a rounded or half-rounded gutter, irrespective of the diameter. Due to its unique shape, the seamless K-style gutters are stronger which means they will be less likely to bend if force is applied.
Half-Round Rain Gutters
The half-round design has been a standard for centuries, and the rounded style looks great on traditional homes like craftsman and Victorian-style architecture. Half-round gutters are less prone to corrosion and have a smoother shape. Available in painted aluminum, painted steel, and copper, the half-round gutters highlight the period’s architecture. Half-round gutters belong to a modern system that has a high rainfall-carrying capacity. Furthermore, these types of rain gutters have an improved curved base which results in less buildup of water, and dirt and is easy to clean. This type is all about choices and style, and the installation method is similar to the K-style gutters.
Copper Rain Gutters
Homeowners who choose to have copper gutters and downspouts installed rarely regret this decision. Even though copper gutters and downspouts are much more expensive than seamless aluminum gutters or galvanized steel gutters, copper has some unique qualities that make it exceptional. Much like seamless aluminum gutters, copper gutters are designed with a seamless appearance and have soldered joints to help prevent leaks. The benefits of copper gutters include no painting, rust, or corrosion. Instead, they weather naturally to a tawny brown patina. Copper gutters are soldered together while others require special sealants that sometimes need to be renewed to prevent leaks.
Galvalume Rain Gutters
We install both galvalume K-style gutters and half-round reverse bead gutters. Galvalume gutters generally last longer than galvanized steel gutters. Galvanized steel is dipped in zinc, but over time the zinc coating deteriorates. Galvalume, on the other hand, is four times more resistant than galvanized steel and maintains its shiny appearance, much like stainless steel. Galvalume is steel coated by 45% zinc and 55% aluminum. They are durable and won’t sag, even over time, hold up to high temperatures, heavy rain, and severe storms. Their think coating makes them resistant to corrosion. Further, Galvalume won’t dent like aluminum and can be coated in paint or metallic finishes.
